As the most senior member of the founding team, Miguel brings over 25 years of professional experience to the table. He has served as managing director of Aurora Ventures since 1999 and sits on the board of companies like Martec Industries, Speratum, BildTEK and Bionnovation Biomedical. After graduating with a bachelor of arts in international relations and affairs from Tufts University, Miguel built a vast business acumen that has made him the backbone to ProNuvo’s vision.

After graduating with a bachelor of science in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Gabriel went on to work for BTG Pactual, the largest investment bank in Latin America based out of Sao Paulo (Brazil). He was there for 4 years, working in the finance and private equity departments before deciding to leave the banking world for good to co-found ProNuvo with his brothers Miguel and Alexandre. Gabriel is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and has proven himself as the leader of the sustainable protein movement in Latin America.

Alex, the youngest of the Carmona brothers, graduated from the University of Miami (FL) with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in music. He worked as a Sales Manager for the Norwegian SaaS company, Meltwater, managing teams out of their Miami and Sao Paulo offices. Alex eventually ended up in Bogota where he helped run the largest Asian food distributor in Colombia. He is now CMO and the third co-founder of ProNuvo, overlooking all aspects of the company’s sales, marketing and communications.

A true bug-lover, Fabio was ProNuvo’s first official hire and plays a key role in the company’s day-to-day operations. He focuses on all biological aspects of the BSF, improving reproduction and growth. Fabio has a bachelor’s and master's degree in biology from the Universidad de Costa Rica, specializing in entomology. His thesis focused on controlling reproduction of flies as part of a pest control study.
